Jens-Uwe FranckThe author introduces the various provisions of the European Sales Law, describes them and examines the extent to which they can be understood as an ordered whole: as a system of European sales law. In addition, he reveals the underlying legal policy guidelines discussed by the literature and describes them using economic theory. It becomes apparent that European Sales Law is to be understood primarily as law that seeks to ensure the functional conditions of the market and competition, and that seeks to support the integration of the single European market.
